Loneliness is an interesting phenomenon. The very person who is the knower does not know who he/she/it is. I am the knower. I am the center, and everything else is around me. But I do not know myself so I run around doing all kinds of crazy things trying to escape my loneliness. Some of us drink alcohol or do drugs, binge eat, or shop, stay in bad relationships, go on trips, join a spiritual community, take up yoga, or become workaholics, all in an effort to avoid being with ourself. Being alone is a reality. We are born alone and we will die alone. But it does not equate to being lonely. Being lonely is a separate thing. Being lonely is just something that we feel in our mind. And we can change our minds. We do not have to feel lonely. But the way to get out of it is not what you think. It doesn't have to do with other people or positions, or possessions. It starts with you and ends with you.
